Swankster. I think you and I both agree that word describes me best. I mean if I weren't, why would I go to an art show? That's right, I went to my first Artnite last night. Thanks to my friend/superior artist Laura Loving, I had the opportunity to see some great art, eat some good food, and meet some great folks.
I actually met five different people from the south…and not only the south, but Nashville, TN. One of the featured photographers at the event was Marcie Allen Cardwell , also from Nashville. Instantly I had a connection with all the southerners there(Laura is from Georgia). Seriously, we knew the same people. One of them even knew my roommates…nuts!
"So what," you say. Well, this is what: Birds of a feather flock together. No I'm not a bird, no i don't have feathers, but i do flock. Flock to friends, flock to fun, flock to fellowship. Your three basic F's.
So you can guarantee that when the south rolls, we roll deep. But you can never tell where we'll be, on stage, in films, or perhaps art galleries. We're everywhere. So there. Don't judge a book by it's cover…unless of course the book is on fire, in which case it would be safe to assume that your body will be consumed by flames if you try to read it. Until then, flock. Flock to friends, fun, and fellowship. And while you're at it, go see some art; it'll blow your mind.
