Josh Lay - the man, the myth, the legend

Merry Christmas

I'm back. I know, i know, i have been a slacker. But you know what? So were the salt trucks during the snowstorm, and you're not yelling at them. If you are, you have serious problems…who yells at a salt truck anyway? Nobody knows.

So what have i been doing you ask? Well, trying to survive this crazy month. If my life were a snow globe, (which would be awesome mind you…seriously think about it, being really tiny and able to breathe in water…awesome) it feels like someone picked it up, shook it around, and then everything fell back in place. I landed a sweet commercial for march madness, then found out i couldn't do it because i was representing the University of Tennessee, and they couldn't get the rights to use their name in the commercial (which is ironic because one goes to college to hopefully get a job afterward, and the school actually was the reason i didn't get the job…go vols right? or should i say the big orange screw will always find you, if not this life then the next). The weather has been miserable; the money has been low, and the schedule very busy (yes i have been everywhere imaginable as the N.J. Devil including a polar bear plunge on the beach…which i'm still picking sand out of places i had no idea i had which is a scary thing…discovering places on your body you didn't realize you had).

So what gives? What happens next? Well, as an old t-shirt of mine used to say with a big teddy bear and wreath on the front, "Grin and Bear it till' Christmas." I don't care who you are, that's comedy gold, and truth. Because if there are two things i love, it's wreaths and teddy bears…and teddy grams, especially the honey ones. Ok, make that three things i love. You know what else is also amazing? Chickfila. Yup. A number 5 twelve pack with a coke to drink. Delicious. Oh yeah, and Christmas isn't too bad either…unless the only presents you get are an extra large blue jean denim shirt and ceramic blue bird (which were my presents Christmas 01' from my extended family, but lucky for me blue jean denim shirts never go out of style. Especially when they're ten sizes too big. And of course who can't use a ceramic blue bird? I know i can.) Merry Christmas.
